I’m drawn to scenes where light, color, reflection and composition come together in a way that makes an ordinary moment anything but ordinary. It might be sunlight illuminating an American flag, reflections across the water, or four wine glasses and bottles lined up in perfect formation. Those are the moments that make me reach for my camera—and eventually, my paintbrush.

My 24 years in the U.S. Air Force shaped much of how I approach my work. Precision, discipline, structure and attention to detail were important then, and they’re just as much a part of me now.

Different uniform. Different tools. New mission.
